On World Refugee Day, we honor the courage of those who have had to rebuild their lives. Behind every number and headline is a person who left their community and sense of normalcy in search of safety and belonging. Leaving home is never a choice made lightly, and the path that follows is rarely easy. Yet within that hardship is a profound determination to find safety, rebuild, and hope for something better. We honor that determination today and every day.
As a community, we have the power to offer more than sympathy - we can offer support, opportunity, and a genuine sense of home. Today is a reminder to act on that power.
