O. H. Ivie and O. C. Fisher were each stocked with Lone Star Bass fingerlings today. O. H. Ivie received approximately 115,000 fingerlings and O. C. Fisher was stocked with approximately 50,000. Once delivered to the lake by hatchery staff, biologists load the fish onto a boat in small batches and release them into the best available cover or vegetation.

Lone Star Bass are the descendants of Legacy Class Sharelunkers (13lbs or greater) and are pure Florida Strain Largemouth Bass. These fingerlings have the genetic potential to grow to trophy size.

Tight lines!

James Sutton submitted his catch of a Freshwater Drum from the Bell Street section of the Concho River for the pending waterbody record. The fish weighed in at 15.55 lb. and 28-3/4 inches long. This catch breaks the previous record of 5.2 lb. caught back in 2019.

Brady Willis submitted his catch of a Hybrid Striped Bass caught from Metcalf Reservoir (a section of the South Concho River directly below Lake Nasworthy dam). His catch weighed 5.75 lb. and was 23.5 inches long. Well done!

FYI, Hybrid Striped Bass were stocked in Lake Nasworthy from 2018-2022, but a few have made it through the spillway and can be caught in the river below (Metcalf, Ben Ficklin, and Bell Street sections).
