Naval Medical Forces Development Command (NMFDC) held an all hands call, recognizing May award recipients and welcoming new Sailors to the team.
We officially welcomed Chief Logistics Specialist Bryan Byrd, who was presented with a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal from his previous command, Cmdr. Calina Coronado, and Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Anastasia Sanchez.

Congratulations to Lt. Cmdr. Miles Pedersen, attached to Navy Medicine Training Support Command (NMTSC) and a resident at the Tri-Service Orthodontic Residency Program, for taking home top honors at this year’s American Association of Orthodontists Annual Meeting.
The award was earned in the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics Resident Case Display competition, showcasing a complex, collaborative treatment plan that highlights the seamless interoperability and clinical excellence of our military dental teams. This win wasn't just a personal victory—it was a true tri-service effort, featuring multi-service faculty mentorship and a surgical-orthodontic approach alongside our Army counterparts.

🏆 Congrats to the student Sailors of Hospital Corpsman Basic (HCB) “A” School Class 070!
These outstanding Sailors attached to the Navy Medicine Training Support Command recently, earned the Gadsden Flag—an honor that hasn’t been achieved by a class in two years!
To earn this recognition, the class had to secure six prestigious pennants in uniform inspection, room inspection, drill, physical readiness, academics, and volunteer service.
Their success serves as a powerful reminder of the top-notch U.S. Navy Corpsmen produced here at NMTSC and METC aboard Joint Base San Antonio.
