Finally, got cooler weather, a day off, and felt well enough to get out in the trees, and trim some fallen tree limbs to begin a barrier in a gap between the trees. The trash I threw out from that spot, into the parking lot, a porter came and picked up, so good. Hopefully tomorrow I feel ok enough to go find my shovel out there, and put some dirt and leaves onto those limbs I stacked. Felt good to be out.
Make Nature Clean Again San Antonio
Locals needed to help keep our woods, & parks clean from vagrants, litter bugs, and illegal dumping.
Been quite awhile since last time, bc of the hot weather, and being worn from work.
Post is for yesterday, October 19, 2025.
Spent nearly 3 hours in the sticks. Trimmed some thin limbs off an invasive, vine tree, and added them to barriers. Spread rocks out again, bc they were pushed toward barriers. I threw beer cans out from behind that barrier, and trimmed limbs providing shade, so the illegals won't park there, get drunk, and litter there. I went around back to the big, high barrier. Saw dead, and rotted tree limbs, maintenance must've tossed over. I added them to that high barrier in hollow pockets to strengthen it, and on top. Picked up a bit of trash, and added it to a trash bag out there. Walked down to the first barrier I built, to see that it was partially dismantled, but I built back up. Was a good day.
Went out with the wife for less than an hour this late morning in the tall grass. We were just searching for a rotting carcass I smelled out there yesterday as I was digging up a small cactus to take home. I found it, thought it was a rabbit, wife said it's a small dog. Poor thing was killed and eaten by coyotes or a bobcat. Bobcat probably bc it wasn't in pieces. If only stupid ass people obeyed the Texas leash law.
An hour out on the trail, just to look around where I haven't been in a long time. Found a huge crowbar type thing before entering the treeline, walked the creek bed, and picked some prickly pear fruit off some cactus. Got dark quick, went home, and ate the fruit my wife skinned. Could use more ripening, but not bad. Hopefully in a week or two the others out there will be ready.
Two and a half hours out in the treeline trimming limbs and adding them to barriers. Sharpened the chainsaw with the bits I ordered, the drill makes sharpening easy, and I have cutting power again.
An hour and a half out in the treeline this morning. Took the mini chainsaw and hand saw to do some trimming, and adding limbs to the barriers. Mini chainsaw is about to get recycled, got warm quick, picked up some trash and bagged it up.
Two hours out in the treeline this morning. Took the mini chainsaw with its quickly draining batteries, and a new saw. The hand saw worked quicker. Trimmed dried limbs, and added them to barriers. Trimming a path around a tree where it meets a small creek. It'll be a comfortable spot to chill and smoke, in the fall.
An hour and 45 minutes out this late morning. Too hot, had me feeling disoriented dizzy, BP got really low when I checked at home. I was digging dirt, throwing it on barriers, and picking up a bucket worth of trash, looks so much better back there. Used the mini chainsaw on thorny vines and tree limbs, adding them to the barriers. Also had to use the hatchet when the saw died out. Heard some frogs out there, it was nice.
Two hours out today. First I moved some branches over to another barrier, so I could clear the area for a fence panel I plan to put up. I then used a 2x4 to measure the spot where I'm going to need to dig. Next I used my found shovel and dug a two ft hole for a wooden post., keeping the rocks and dirt nearby for when I begin to set it. Tired I left to collect more trash to top the bag off I had out there, then tossed it in a dumpster before going home.
Spent an hour and 15 minutes today in the treeline, trimming tree limbs, and adding them and rocks to barriers. Collected a bucket of trash to add to a big bag out there. Good day. Maybe tomorrow I'll start digging a hole to set a beam in, since it rained this evening.
One and a half hours in the treeline shoveling dirt onto barriers, and chopping a big tree limb. Got sick, took a s**t under a tree, and headed home ππ₯Ίπ
Saturday's post. Spent about an hour and a half in the treeline using the mini chainsaw to trim limbs and build up the barriers. Before entering I saw the carcass of a raccoon in the corner of the parking lot nearby, bobcat must've got him, or coyotes.
