Summary:

Curious about obtaining a crime analysis certification? This session is open to anyone interested in the IACA certification process but is not a study session. It will however provide you with useful information on the CLEA test and what to expect!

Alex Schneider

K. Alex Schneider has 18 years of crime analysis experience. She currently works with the Burleson Texas Police Department and is the Past President of TXLEAN. In 2014 she became a Certified Law Enforcement Analyst (CLEA). She has served as a member on the IACA Certification Commission for over a decade now, helped develop the LEAF Certification program, and in January 2026, she took over as Chair of the IACA Certification Commission. She has presented numerous times at conferences for the Texas Law Enforcement Analyst Network (TXLEAN), the International Association of Crime Analysts (IACA), the National Gang Crime Research Center (NGCRC), and the Massachusetts Association of Crime Analysts (MACA).

Come and join us for a webinar that will focus on the investigation of Gun Crimes. As a continuation of last month's webinar on gun ballistics, analysts will continue the journey of piecing together gun crimes through a variety of methods and strategies.

Presenter:

Jennifer Zielinski

Jennifer “Paige” Zielinski is a lifelong Texas resident, with a family full of members of law enforcement. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Texas Wesleyan University in 1998, and a Master of Criminal Justice from Tarleton State University in 2019.

She worked briefly in a small police department before Jointing Fort Worth Police Department in late 2008. She has had various positions within the department, including report taking, crime scene photo processing, fi****ms technician doing NIBIN entry, and crime and intelligence analyst. In January of 2024, she became the first member of the Department’s new Crime Gun Intelligence Unit, working exclusively on gun crimes to assist with the Violent Crime Initiative’s goal of driving down gun crime with the city.

When not at her dream job, Paige enjoys renaissance fairs, reading, gardening, shooting, and spending time with her husband and their three Bassglehunds (Bassett-Beagle-Dachshund mixes). She also collects various antiques and police memorabilia and patches, and volunteer with the peer support team at FWPD.

Jennifer "JC" Crowe

Jennifer "JC" Crowe has worked in law enforcement support for 15+ years, including the TXDPS Texas Fusion Center (TXFC), TXDPS Texas State Capitol Region (Region VII), and the Austin Regional Intelligence Center (ARIC). In 2018 she supported the Austin Police Department during the multi-agency investigation into the Austin Serial Bombings. She is currently a Crime Intelligence Analyst with the Southwest Texas Fusion Center (SWTFC) located in San Antonio, Texas, serving the greater San Antonio and Bexar County metro region. Her background is primarily domestic extremism, emerging threats, and counterterrorism. She is currently assigned to gun crime investigative leads and supports the San Antonio Police Department's Gun Crime Unit. She learns something new every day, swears by Occam's Razor, and loves all aspects of the crime analysis field.
