Thank you to everyone who joined us for District 1’s State of the District Town Hall! 🤝 It was great to bring our community together with Congressman Joaquin Castro, State Senator José Menéndez, and State Representative Diego Bernal for meaningful conversations about the issues that matter to our residents. Another District 1 infrastructure project complete! Working in partnership with Public Works, our office worked to restore approximately 13 feet of stone wall near Allison Drive within Brackenridge Park. These improvements match the existing structure to maintain the area’s historic character and aesthetics while helping ensure a safe crossing for both pedestrians and vehicles.

Missing middle housing is a key part of expanding housing options in San Antonio. I was proud to join the San Antonio Housing Trust’s Missing Middle Housing Summit this week to discuss how we can create more housing options for our residents.

Thank you to everyone who brought their expertise and ideas to the conversation. Building a more affordable city will take collaboration, innovative solutions, and a commitment to expanding housing options for our residents. As your councilmember, I’ll continue advocating for solutions that reduce barriers to development and create more attainable housing options for our residents.

🚧 Three sets of speed humps were added on E. Russell between McCullough and N. St. Mary’s through NAMP funding. The Neighborhood Access and Mobility Program (NAMP) provides funding for community-identified projects that improve neighborhood safety, mobility, and connectivity.

These improvements are helping slow traffic along this busy corridor, where motorists previously used the road as a cut-through. Submit a ticket through 311 to bring attention to safety improvements needed in your neighborhood!

Los Bexareños Genealogical and Historical Society invites the community to explore the history, genealogy, and contributions of Tejano families with roots in Texas and the Americas reaching generations before 1776.

San Antonio residents deserve to feel safe in the community they call home. As we discuss the proposed ICE facility, our families’ safety, dignity, and peace of mind must come first.

That’s why I supported yesterday's City Council vote to assess the facility’s impact on our utilities and community. We must use every tool available to protect our residents and hold this project accountable.
