In High School I would wear Penny loafers, khaki pants, IZOD shirts with the collar up and I had a nice afro...LOL
Football and special rivalries taught me about Goal setting, Effort, Teamwork, and Communication. All are attributes I continue to use while serving as a SCUCISD School Board Trustee.

Wynn Brook National Night Out!
I was happy to participate in the Wynn Brook NNO hosted by Christopher and Belinda Evans. Thanks to City of Schertz - Government for allowing police, fire, code enforcement, and animal services.
Great attendance!
I asked many couples what brought them to Schertz. The quality of schools in Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD (SCUCISD) was always mentioned.

During March I attended a number of events designed to provide professional development, improve team building, and build relationships. *TASB Governance Camp - the importance of School District culture on student outcomes and the value of engaging students in solving problems and I was a panelist on a presentation titled "Public Education is NOT supposed to be Political"
*TCBSBM Educational Summit - ESSER Funds and knowing that educational equity and the hot topic of DEI should be separated
*Panelist for a discussion with students in the Superintendency Program at the University of Texas about Superintendent and Board relations
*SAFD Leadership Retreat - Communication styles
*TASB Board of Director Spring meeting - Providing thoughtful strategic insight can move education forward.
The common theme is the NEED to establish a shared vocabulary, identify common values and goals and cultivate opportunities to dialogue and have crucial conversations.
I am interested in starting a video podcast. If you are interested in having a discussion on Zoom where 1 to 3 persons seek to understand, then be understood to build our community send me a message. the meeting would be made public for our community.
