Congratulations to Mr. Damon Collier, Corps Proponent Specialist, AMEDD Civilian Corps, for completing the Continuing Education for Senior Leaders - Strategic Leadership (CESL-SL) Course held at Fort Leavenworth, KS. "The Continuing Education for Senior Leaders – Strategic Leadership (CESL-SL) course provides an interactive environment in which senior leaders (GS 14/15, CWO 4/5, SGM/CSM, and LTC/COL) discuss current issues and relevant challenges facing civilian and military leaders. The program’s intent is for leaders to periodically return to the program to refresh and receive updates on current Army issues and initiatives. Students will apply strategic thinking and problem solving to global Army and DOD issues. The course structure is a combination of guest speakers, university professors, and interactive exercises."

On 7 June, Dr. Todd A. Fore, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Civilian Personnel) visited the Army Management Staff College Secretary of the Army Leader Development Seminar and talked about communication. He emphasized the importance of active listening as an essential component of communication. Leaders should stop to focus on specifically what is being shared with them (e.g., positive news story, event update, or issue), pausing to process what they heard, and repeating back a summary to ensure shared understanding.

UPDATE #1 - The annual Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS) is an opportunity for you to share your perceptions in many critical areas, including your work experience, your organization, and your leaders.

All employees who have not received the survey should email [email protected] or [email protected] directly with inquiries, including eligibility and missing email questions. The help desk needs to hear directly from the employee to fix email issues.
