The inaugural Bexar County Public Health Summit in partnership with the Kate Marmion School of Public Health. We are grateful for the support of Bexar County Judge Peter Sakai and Vasan Ramachandran, MD, Founding Dean the Kate Marmion School of Public Health. We also want to thank Dr Carmen Valdez, Associate Dean of Research and Partnerships with the Kate Marmion School of Public Health and our keynote speaker, Hazel James-Tohe, a Diné matriarch. We’re excited for the rest of the day filled with conversations, connection and COLLECTIVE WISDOM.

11 AM FRIDAY (1/23/26) UPDATE :
Bexar County is taking precautionary measures in anticipation of extreme weather
conditions by opening five (5) warming centers to offer short-term emergency shelter starting Saturday, January 24 at 6 a.m. until Monday, January 26 at 12 p.m.
Individuals seeking shelter at these centers are encouraged to bring essential items such
as medication, clothing, and personal supplies.
Service animals are welcome.

If you haven’t already done so, please talk to your doctor or local pharmacy about getting a flu vaccine 💉 It’ll offer better protection against the virus 🤧

It’s not too late to get your flu shot!
Please take the time out to get your flu vaccine either with your primary doctor, or at your nearest clinic. Rates for the flu are reportedly the highest in the past 25 years, according to CDC. Don’t start the new year fighting the bug!
