We are saddened to hear of the passing of Doris Clifton Haby who served the Academy as Administrative Assistant 1993 - 2017. She attended every BPOC graduation with the exception of when she fought her first cancer battle. She often supported each BPOC class and cadet as if they were her own family, sharing in the tears and joys of the state exams. She single handedly reported over 200,000 training hours annually for various agencies. During her time at the Academy she also provided administrative support for the Alamo Police Chiefs Association meetings. If you knew Doris, you knew she supported Law Enforcement and all first responders. Our thoughts are with her friends and family during this difficult time. Doris will always be part of our Academy ❤️

Congratulations to our 2024 Bravo Cadets!

From the Office of Chief Bobby Lane:

“I am excited to announce that we have two new members joining the Converse Police Department family. Please join me in welcoming K. Hillman and D. Cortez to our ranks. Both Hillman and Cortez have recently graduated from the AACOG Law Enforcement Academy, and we are thrilled to have them on board!”

In a historic moment for our department, Hillman and Cortez were sworn in by our City Manager, Mr. Ronnie Guest Jr. This marks the first time this honor has been conducted by our City Manager, making it a truly special occasion.

We are confident that Hillman and Cortez will be excellent additions to our team, and we look forward to their contributions to the safety and security of our community .
