Save Water by Season
Dear SAWS Customer:
In San Antonio, summer's heat often lingers into September. Tackle mulching this month which can help bring down soil temperatures and keep more moisture in the soil. Smooth two inches of organic mulch over your landscape beds, keeping it two inches away from the base of plants and 12-18 inches away from trees and shrubs.
Later this month, your seasonal adjust button can be switched to 90% as summer fades. Keeping your sprinkler's seasonal adjust settings updated can mean you'll save up to 30% of your annual water use.
San Antonio remains in Stage 2 watering rules. If you are watering with a sprinkler, irrigation system or soaker hose, this is allowed only one day a week between 7-11 a.m. and 7-11 p.m. on your designated day. Hand watering can be done on any day at any time.
Stage 2 Watering Rules Review
San Antonio's conservation ordinance helps our community manage our water resources. Water waste is prohibited, and the ordinance includes watering rules. SAWS would like your feedback on proposed changes to make the conservation ordinance more fair, effective and efficient.

Cash for conservation
As summer ends, it's a good time to assess your property. Our rebates can help you update to a smart irrigation system, convert to pressure-reducing heads or ditch zones you no longer need, including a $300 cash rebate for each parking lot island. Bubblers can remain in the four corners for any trees.

Now is not a good time to replace grass
Homeowner’s associations aim to maintain neighborhood standards, but they can’t legally require you to replace or water your brown lawn.
We appreciate your water-saving efforts!
