Howdy, everyone! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒ

Last night, we had a few accusations brought up to our attention.

Well, we are going to address those accusations for you! ๐Ÿ˜

1. โ€ผ Addressing Janet's Conversation with Director of Campus Engagement at UIWโ€ผ

(Screenshot attached below) Janet Lynn Palacios Knutson (Jay Kay on FB) claims to have spoken with a woman named Julianna Peceli, who is the supposed Director of Campus Engagement.

We have attached the screenshot of our Presidents conversation with Julianna - not only admitting she never spoke to Janet and not knowing who she is, but also admitting she is definitely not the Director of Campus Education Engagement (as she is the President of Young Conservatives and a Senior in College). Julianna is tagged on this post as a witness and is happy to answer any questions!

So Janet's accusation about speaking to the Director about our status? WRONG!

in Action, where is your reliable source??๐Ÿค”
Please feel free to message us!

In addition, in all of our paperwork, we are registered and established as "College Republicans of UIW". We discovered Janet falsified an email address and was emailing herself, as any employee of Campus Engagement at the University of the Incarnate Word would have corrected her and told her that there is no such a group (nor has there never been a group) named as "Young Republicans at UIW", because we are "College Republicans". ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Janet fabricated the call, the email, and all the information she claims to obtain.

Fake News? Out of here!! โšพ๏ธ

2. โ€ผNow, let's address our status!โ€ผ
Because we did not hold any meetings last year and did not attend a training at the beginning of this semester, we are considered "inactive".

Yes, we still exist!
Yes, we are still established on campus!
Yes, we still hold our charter!
Yes, we can still accept new members!
Yes, we can still endorse!

We simply can't hold meetings and hold large events on campus. ๐Ÿคง

Awesome, moving on! ๐Ÿ˜„

3. โ€ผWhy we chose Tony Gonzalesโ€ผ

Choosing Tony was a decision that took months. We had become familiar with some candidates and had to do weeks of research on others. ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ“š

Ultimately, it came down to two contenders: Reyes and Gonzalez.

This is what our Founder and President had to say:
"It says a lot about a candidate when his supporters feel so free to insult and trash another candidate and they do nothing. Raul Reyes was the candidate I liked but I never liked the way his supporters were with other on social media, it's as if he was encouraging their behavior. I have worked on congressional campaigns, I managed a state rep campaign and volunteered for the Governor - how did he never tell his supporters to stop trashing on other candidates? Its 'Working on Campaigns 101'. To sum it all together, after doing our research for almost 2 months, we interviewed Tony and decided on the endorsement.
There was no way I was going to give Raul Reyes a spotlight when his supporters were being disgusting on social media. It says a lot about a candidate when his supporters are behaving that way and he isn't doing anything about it.. I wasn't going to endorse Raul Reyes because I don't ever want my members to think that sort of behavior is okay."

Folks, there you have it!

4.โš ๏ธ Lastly, we are asking for everyone who has seen the posts made by Janet Lynn Palacios Knutson (Jay Kay), to please help us set the record straight.โš ๏ธ

Her words hold no value, and it's all fabrication and lies.

UIWCR successfully became the first Conservative and Republican organization established at UIW after it had been a liberal zone for over 129 years.
We celebrated. We became activists. Our supporters were our #1 fans and we were on fire!

It was hard work and effort. Many of you were apart of the long and complicated processes, but we made it!

If we needed your support at the beginning, we need your support now. Please do not allow someone to tear down what we've built, simply because we did not endorse the candidate of her choice (that would be Raul Reyes).

Thanks, everyone! โ˜บ
