Starting on Monday, June 1st, contractors will begin repairs on the western portion of Silvertree (from FM 3009 to Dove Meadows), as well as on Idlewood and Spicewood. The street work will involve the following steps:

1. Removing the existing pavement.
2. Cement stabilizing the remaining material.
3. Reshaping and compacting the stabilized material.
4. Paving a new layer of asphalt on top.

The project is expected to be completed within three weeks, barring any weather-related delays. While construction is in progress, vehicular traffic will be allowed on the streets. Please pay close attention to barricades and follow the instructions given by workers to navigate safely through the work area. We kindly ask that you drive carefully and allow extra time to get through the affected areas.

We appreciate your patience as this important street work is being completed.

The tornado warnings are beginning to expire, but as the rain continues, our area remains under a flood warning.

Please use extreme caution if you are traveling. If you come across a roadway with water flowing over it, do not attempt to cross. The depth and strength of the water can be deceiving and dangerous.

Remember: Turn Around, Don’t Drown.

A huge thank you to the Student Council and FCCLA clubs at Steele High School for their generosity and support of our community! Through their fundraising efforts benefiting several organizations, the students donated $1,000 to Schertz Animal Services to help care for animals in need. 🐾

ACO Manager Megan Lagunas and ACO Gonzales visited the school to personally thank the students and share how impactful their donation will be for the shelter. They also spoke about ways students can get involved and make a difference in the lives of animals in our community.

We are grateful for these students’ compassion, leadership, and commitment to giving back. Thank you, Steele Knights, for supporting Schertz Animal Services! 💙🐶🐱
