The OLLU Police Department consists of the chief of police, 13 police officers and an administrative clerk.

The University Police Department provides assistance and service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to ensure protection for approximately 3,500 students, faculty, staff and visitors of the University community. The statutory authority for the existence of OLLU Police Department and each University Police Officer is derived through legislative action and defined in the Texas Education and Penal Codes.
