8:00 PM Sunday, March 15 radar update: The strong cold front is now moving into the southern counties of our region. Hazy skies and wind gusts of 40-50 mph have been observed immediately behind the front. Bat colonies are fighting the wind and heading south.

Critical fire weather conditions will develop in the wake of a dryline passage on Sunday and a strong cold front late Sunday afternoon into evening and continue through Monday. A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for Sunday afternoon through Monday evening. Avoid any outdoor activities that could inadvertently cause wildfires.

Additional strong to severe storms capable of large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes will form this evening (March 10) and move into the southern Edwards Plateau and western Hill Country. Locally heavy rain is possible. Severe storms have already produced these hazards.

Good afternoon all,
Even though Bexar isn't currently covered by this Red Flag warning for Thursday, February 26, windy conditions don't recognize county lines. Please exercise caution outdoors tomorrow.
A Red Flag Warning has been issued for the Hill Country, Southern Edwards Plateau and Rio Grande Plains (11 AM to 7 PM) Thursday. Breezy northerly winds of 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph and humidity values as low as 13% will produce critical fire conditions across the area. Avoid open flames, keep vehicles off dry grass, use grills on pavement, properly discard ci******es and remember to obey burn bans!
