We are celebrating World Environment Day with a major accomplishment!
Today our team commissioned the rooftop solar system at Ron Darner Parks and Recreation Headquarters. We're proud to have a $30 million municipal solar program that’s halfway completed. With over 50 rooftop and parking canopy locations, the solar program is estimated to save our city $1.8 M annually!

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has issued an Ozone Action Day for the San Antonio area tomorrow, May 13. Metro Health would like to remind you to do your part on Ozone Action Days. Adjust your activities by taking these actions:

- Fuel your vehicle after 6:00 p.m.
- Work from home if possible
- Conserve energy
- Do not use gas-powered lawn equipment

Remember - High levels of ozone can trigger a variety of health problems for young children, older adults, and those with respiratory issues. Please limit outdoor activities and stay indoors.

It's not even May yet, and the Texas heat is creeping in. To help our city prepare, we created the "San Antonio Heat Resilience Playbook" is a simple guide that helps City leaders, departments, and the community take action. It builds on what’s already being done, helps move slow projects forward, and connects efforts to have a bigger impact πŸͺπŸ˜Žβ˜€οΈ read more about it at the link below!
