Women’s History Month

During the month of March, the 80th TC (TASS) honors and celebrates the struggles and achievements of women throughout the history of the United States. The theme for 2019 is “Visionary Women: Champions of Peace and Nonviolence.”

This theme honors women who have rejected violence as counterproductive and stressed the need to restore respect, establish justice, and reduce the causes of conflict as the surest way to peace.

The 80th Training Command (TASS) values the service and sacrifice of each Soldier throughout the command and Army Reserve. The Reserve's greatest asset is its people - the finest men and women our Nation has to offer.

In April, the 80th TC (TASS) is hosting a retirement ceremony for
Soldiers who are currently serving or have served in the command during their career. All are welcome, and the travel costs are the retiree's responsibility.

If you meet the requirements for retirement from the Army Reserve and would like for the command to recognize you during the ceremony, please contact us here on Facebook. We will provide you additional details and send your information through the leadership channels for planning purposes.

While this doesn't apply to April's ceremony, there are many requirements retiring Soldiers must complete and plan prior to their retirement date (paperwork, ceremonies, etc.). Please begin the retirement process at least 12 to 24 months out.

Balance is key to retention

”The Army Reserve has this fundamental imperative to be ready enough for the next fight...but not so ready that we can’t keep meaningful civilian jobs, and a healthy family lifestyle.”
- LTG Charles D Luckey

Each February, the U.S. reflects upon and celebrates the tremendous contributions of African Americans to our great nation. This commemoration gives us the chance to reflect on the contributions of African American Soldiers throughout our history.

This year's theme is “Black Migrations.” Embracing and celebrating diversity makes our Army stronger, and we are dedicated to ensuring equality for all of our Soldiers, Civilians, and Family members.

Have you done your homework on retirement pay?

Even if you retire after 20 years of service, it doesn’t mean you’ll automatically start receiving retirement pay when you turn 60.
