One of our special sessions at this year's Low Vision Expo, titled “Emotional & Mental Health Impacts of Vision Loss,” will be presented by the wonderful Deborah Herrera, BSN, MRC, RN, and LPC Associate.

Deborah “Debi” Herrera is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate and a Registered Nurse with more than 25 years of experience supporting individuals with disabilities, chronic medical conditions and mental health concerns. She has also worked extensively with the State of Texas in case management and therapeutic counseling roles.

Debi utilizes CBT, DBT, person-centered, and trauma-informed modalities to support clients in
navigating a wide range of challenges. Her areas of focus include adjustment to loss, chronic
disease management, disability-related concerns, anxiety, grief, depression, PTSD, and life transitions. Known for her empathy and a warm, collaborative approach, Debbie strives to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered in their healing process.

Mrs. Herrera's session will take place from 9:45 to 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, May 2nd. We look forward to learning from her wisdom and hope to see you there! 🤩
