Today marks four years since the Uvalde community was forever changed by tragedy. The Children's Bereavement Center of South Texas honors all the lives lost and their families, who we remain dedicated to supporting through the heavy days yet to come. When a su***de affects a community, young people can be left with a lot of questions and big emotions. To offer support to our community, the Children’s Bereavement Center of South Texas is hosting a Community Meeting to Support Youth Mental Health in Uvalde.

Parents, caregivers, and anyone supporting children or teens can join us Tuesday, May 12th at the Ssgt. Willie de Leon Civic Center at 6:30 PM. This meeting is meant to help caregivers feel more confident supporting youth through grief and mental health conversations.

For so many, Mother's Day is difficult and heavy. Whether you're grieving a mother, a child, a partner, or anyone else connected to this day – we see and support you. You do not have to carry this grief alone 🦋 Spend time with loved ones today, sharing memories and carrying on traditions that honor our mothers. Make time for self-care and know you are loved💙

There's still time to apply for our summer camps! We're so excited to bring our children and families to Hermann Sons Life Camp for three days of hope and healing. Spots are open for Summer Camp Heroes in June, as well as our August Camp for families.

Summer Camp Heroes is a three-day, overnight bereavement camp for youth ages 11-17 who have experienced the death of a family member or friend. Our August Camp is also a three-day, overnight bereavement camp designed for family units who have experienced the death of a family member or friend. There are still spots available for both! You can visit CBCST.org/grief-camps for more information and to apply!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and CBCST is proud to provide mental health programming and counseling to children across our community. Grief can have serious impacts on the mental health of developing youth. By walking alongside children and their caregivers on their grief journeys, we provide hope and healing for difficult days ahead🦋

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a lovely evening at the Center! Happy Volunteer Appreciation Week to everyone who give to us with their time and skills. You're making lasting impacts in the lives of children across South Texas💙
