Do you know we have several books in our collection written by TBC church members? Here are just two, written by Margaret Maxwell and Karl Schank. Also, we’re featuring a book on the history of Camp Paisano, in Alpine, recently mentioned by Pastor Matt.
Speaking of Pastor Matt, we’ve been gifted an inspiring book written by his uncle, Kenneth Hall, titled Road Maps: Directions for Living.
Why don’t you drop by the library to check out some of our great books!

Babies Learn Language Best Through Sing-Song Speech, Not Phonetics - Neuroscience News 12/08/2023

Our Co-Librarian posted this on her Fb page, and after doing a story time for toddlers for a couple of years I can attest to this (and reading to my own)! Thanks for sharing, Cyndie!

Did you know that our very own Dr. Debbie Potter and her son, RC (Chase) Potter wrote a book to go along with the ark mural in the Children’s Center? Trinity’s artist friend Shawn Bridges painted an incredible, life-sized rendering of the interior of Noah’s ark and the animals inside - giving a real feel for what it may have been like to be onboard the ark! Dr. Debbie and Chase added wonderful poetry describing all of the animals featured in the mural.

Want to take a look at their book? Come by the library and check it out! It’s on top of a shelf displayed in our children’s area.

This is another interesting children’s book based on a true story.

In America during WW11, Japanese Americans were imprisoned in incarceration camps. At a camp in Idaho, a library worker named Tama and a young man named George meet. Love in the Library tells a wrenching and beautiful story of two people who find each other during a time of extreme darkness.

This book is displayed in the children’s area. Come check it out! Thanks to our friends Marjorie and Joe Brake for the donation.

We have some wonderful new books in the library. I think this one is my favorite.

The Oldest Student is a true story about a woman named Mary Walker. Mary was born in 1848, as an enslaved girl in the state of Alabama. From a very young age she worked hard on a plantation, eventually given her freedom along with her family through the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863.

Mary worked hard throughout her life, even after having been given her freedom. She lived for a very long time, and was an interesting person.

I don’t want to give away any of the wonderful things about Mary’s story, but it’s very interesting. Go find the book in our library and read it! I have displayed it in the children’s area on top of the bookshelves.

Our library ladies had so much fun reading to our 3 & 4 year old PDO classes every Tuesday this year! The last book they “read” with Miss Ginna this week was The Grey Lady and the Strawberry Snatcher. What fun they had as she took them on a search in our library while “reading” this wordless book.
Thanks to Miss Ginna, Miss Carol R., Miss Sandy F., and Miss Carol J. for sharing your love of reading with our PDO darlings this year.
We hope everyone has a wonderful summer, and DON’T FORGET TO READ! ❤️
