While this beloved event has traditionally been held in person, we’re going digital this year so you can join us from anywhere and still make a meaningful impact. For generations, Visitation House Ministries has created lasting change by opening doors to education, and now we’re expanding that mission to meet a growing need.
 
With one in five college students nationwide—and nearly 27,000 in San Antonio—balancing parenthood while pursuing their education, we’re launching an innovative pilot program to support pregnant and parenting students.

Today is the 39th anniversary of the founding of Visitation House Ministries.  Thirty-nine years ago, Sr. Yolanda Tarango and Sr. Neomi Hayes created a new ministry to meet the needs of economically vulnerable women and children in our community. Sr. Cindy Stacy joined the VHM team some years later and together these women, supported by the hard work, love and prayers of so many, have measurably and positively impacted the lives of countless women and children across generations. 
 
Over the years this ministry has taken many forms as the needs and resources changed.  From emergency shelter to long-term transitional housing, educational support services, mental health services, family counseling, legal aid... all responding to the needs of the families and communities we serve.   Today, Visitation House Ministries continues to evolve, allowing the “signs of the times” to shape its future direction, and ensuring that it continues to meet its core mission of serving vulnerable women and children.  What remains constant is the fact that the needs are great and VHM still has much to offer.
 
We thank our past and current staff,  Board members, Sisters and volunteers for all you have done and continue to do to strengthen and support this ministry and the families we serve.
