Yesterday, we gathered to lay to rest a true servant of the people.

Paul Elizondo's parents stressed to him the importance of service - to his family, his community, his country and his church. A husband, father, grandfather, musician, Marine, educator, legislator, commissioner, mentor and friend, he worked tirelessly everyday to serve the greater good.

His legacy will live on in those moments in the classroom that changed lives, unforgettable memories fueled by his amazing orchestra and the many projects he championed to improve the lives of our entire community.

He truly embodied the description read at his service:
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

From your family, friends and beloved community, thank you Paul. You are already missed but you and your service to all of us will never be forgotten.
