The San Antonio Armed Forces Parade Association is an organization that represents all branches of the military. The SAAFPA is open to the public.
The San Antonio Armed Forces Parade Association consists of Veteran Board Members, Widows of Veterans, Gold star Daughters, Military daughters and sons, and active duty military. We encourage all citizens to join us in honoring veterans, our country, and freedom. The SAAFPA is an organization that represents all branches of the military (US Army, Army Air Corps, Marines, Air Force, Navy, Coast Gua
rd). The SAAFPA Group consists of veterans of all wars (World II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf War, Iraqi Freedom, and the war in Afghanistan). We are not associated with any other Military organization. However, we do participate in the Armed Forces Parade Association annual parade in November of each year. The SAAFPA is actively involved in the community to connect with local veterans. The SAAFPA has an annual parade in May of each year, and throughout the year performs ceremonial memorials to veterans, in the form of an Honor Guard Parade and presents a U.S. Flag at all Veteran funerals and to others that have served their country. Additionally, we are frequently asked to open ceremonies for City Council events and to take part in parades in surroundings cities and other events that honor veterans and service to our country. Our participation is voluntary and we do not ask for payment. We do, however, need and appreciate donations to support our many efforts to honor veterans.
