MAJ Jon Voss and LTC Edward Donnarumma traveled to Dhaka, Bangladesh, to participate in a strategic health engagement led by the Commanding General of the 18th Theater Medical Command (TMC). The delegationās visit aimed to gain a deeper understanding of the Bangladesh Army Medical forces and identify opportunities for future collaboration. Meetings were held with the U.S. Ambassador, the Bangladeshi equivalent of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Bangladeshi equivalent of The Surgeon General, and several medical providers. The team also visited several medical facilities, both military and civilian. Social Workers at the 18th TMC remains actively engaged in planning, coordinating, and executing health engagements with partner nations across the Pacific.

Congratulations to our 73As that were selected to attend Iron Major Week and the Junior Leaders Course! MAJ Joshua Davis and MAJ Rafael Salas were selected for Iron Majors Week, and CPT Charity Edwards, 1LT Angela Garrett, and CPT Teddy Medina were selected for Junior Leaders Course. Selection for these courses is a distinct honor and prepares chosen officers for higher levels of leadership in the Army Medical Service Corps.

Last month we welcomed into our ranks 1LT Madison Morgan and 1LT Jaque Barr as 73A Social Work Officers after they completed the AMEDD Basic Officer Leadership Course (BOLC) and the Division of Behavioral Health Sciences (DBHS) Behavioral Health Officer (BHO) Track phase program of instruction. 1LT Morgan has a folllow-on assignment to Fort Stewart, GA and 1LT Barr is on assignment to Fort Hood, TX.

On 31 October we welcomed four direct commissioned 73As into our community upon their completion of the Basic Officer Leader Course. Pictured below with their BOLC classmates are (front row, left-to-right) 1LT Erin Caula (Fort Bliss), 1LT Shelby Curry (Fort Drum), 1LT Kassidi Guerrero (Fort Bliss), and (middle back row) 1LT Michael Nash (Fort Bragg). They will move on to their respective units, where the 73A community will work to provide local support for their roles as Behavioral Health Officers.

Officers in the Social Work Internship Program (SWIP) at Fort Sam Houston supported the San Antonio community by coordinating a food drive to help families experiencing food insecurity. They set up donation boxes at various clinics and created a friendly competition to boost engagement, resulting in a strong turnout and meaningful support for local families in need. SWIP Interns CPT Kanise McCalston, CPT Reyna Armel, 1LT Angela Garrett, 1LT Crystal Ramsey, 1LT Scott Burgundy, 1LT Garey Hindman, and 1LT Laci Steinman all participated in making the drive a success, with 1LT Ramsey and 1LT Garrett leading the effort as Officers-in-Charge (OICs).
