🚨 TRAFFIC ADVISORY: EXPECT DELAYS AT VALLEY HI GATE (OCT 26–30) 🚧🚗

Commuters, plan ahead! Road paving on Springvale Dr. will cause significant traffic delays at the Valley Hi Gate next week (Monday, Oct 26 – Friday, Oct 30).

Selfridge East & Selfridge West Gates will be open 0500-1000 daily to accommodate inbound traffic.

🚪 NEW LOCATION, SAME EXCELLENT SERVICE!

The 802d Security Forces Squadron VCC has officially moved! Beginning today, Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, all visitor control services have transitioned to the Luke East Visitor Center location.

The team is fully operational and standing by to assist you with visitor passes, base access credentials, and general access inquiries.

If you need assistance or have questions about the transition, please reach out to the team at 210-671-6174.

Thank you for your patience and flexibility during this transition. The 802d SFS looks forward to serving you at Luke East Gate!

This milestone of investment is one of a few new CDCs that will allow us to expand access to affordable, high-quality childcare, empowering our service members and their families to meet the demands of military service with confidence.

Together with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Southwestern Division and Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, we’re building a stronger foundation for learning 🎒, growth 🌱, and resilience ✨ to ensure every JBSA child has the opportunity to succeed.

🚓 Thanks for joining us to make JBSA’s National Night Out a success! ⛑️ We loved sharing our new anti-sUAS program, police 🚔 and other emergency response vehicles 🚒, games 🎯 and seeing everyone excited to meet Sparky, Chase, and McGruff!

NNO is our annual event to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make JBSA neighborhoods safer, more caring places for you to live.

The U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence has extended host registration until October 16th for the annual Mission Thanksgiving "Adopt a Troop" program at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston 🦃

Open your home to young Soldiers away from family for the first time, and share a holiday meal in a welcoming setting!

Quick Facts:
📅 Deadline: Register by October 16, 2026.
👥 Buddy System: Soldiers are hosted in pairs.
🚗 Logistics: Host families pickup/drop-off at JBSA-Fort Sam Houston.
🔒 Safety: Host participants must consent to a background check.
🚫 Note: MEDCoE employees are not eligible to host.

There is high potential for widespread heavy rain, greater than 2 Inches in 12 hours, and localized flash flooding across JBSA, Thursday Morning through Friday Morning, the first and second of October 2026.

Monitor facilities and route concerns through CE channels and please look to your respective commands for additional guidance.

Safety Reminders:
• Monitor local weather and road conditions before traveling.
• Never drive through flooded roadways. Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
• Allow extra travel time and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions.
