Larkspur Elementary School - North East ISD

Clifford came to remind students to read over the summer. Students at Larkspur were able to close books for summer reading. Readers are leaders.

During a Special Board Meeting on Monday, May 18, the North East ISD Board of Trustees named Interim Superintendent Anthony Jarrett as the Lone Finalist for Superintendent.

“He has maintained a strong commitment to student success, academic excellence and community partnerships,” said Board President David Beyer. “We are confident that his leadership, experience, and vision will help guide our District forward, toward continued growth and opportunity for all staff students and families.”

Jarrett brings more than 25 years of experience in public education including six years with NEISD. He previously served as the District’s Chief Instructional Officer before being named Interim Superintendent in December of last year. Prior to joining North East ISD in 2019, Jarrett served as a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent in Northside ISD.

Following the announcement, Jarrett shared his gratitude to the board and enthusiasm for this next chapter.

“Sitting in this role is a humbling experience,” said Jarrett. “The mindset of service first and self second is something that I fundamentally believe in. I think working alongside you guys, I know our District will continue to grow, get better and be one of the best districts in the country.”

Per state mandate, NEISD trustees must wait at least 21 days before officially voting to appoint Jarrett as our District’s newest Superintendent.

We honored our Larkspur Teacher of the Year, Ms. Gomez this evening. She has a passion for teaching and has seen her students make great progress this year because of her dedication in the classroom. Please give her a shout out from our Larkspur family

This afternoon, some of our fourth and fifth grade students had the opportunity to compete in the Elementary Track Meet — and they did an amazing job! From running fast, to jumping far, to throwing long, our Leopards gave it their all and represented Larkspur with pride.

We are so proud of each student who competed and showed great sportsmanship and determination throughout the event. A huge thank you to our parents for dedicating their time and supporting our students today. Here is a look into some of the participants. 📸 Go Leopards! 🐆
