It’s always a good morning for a competition!!
Steel Dragon tests the Warrior Spirit, determination, tactical and technical proficiencies of our 68W Combat Medic trainees.
While under stress, duress and physical strain they completed TC3, react to contact and react to IDF.
Congrats to to First Platoon on their hard fought victory!!

Dragon families and friends: reminder that graduation is tomorrow at 0900 at the academic support building on Fort Sam Houston. See the previous letter giving details on the location.
Parking will undoubtedly be horrific. Please arrive well in advance to avoid the chaos!
We will stream directly from our page. Disregard strange links that people post. There are numerous scammers out there and we try to keep up with them but they generally overpower us as we get closer to graduation.
See you tomorrow!

Hello Dragon Families!
Great news: these Soldier Medics have finished the medical training portion of AIT and are prepping for the culminating ruck march in the morning. We had a field dinner with hot rations and then did “dragon idol” where the Soldier Medics were given an opportunity to impersonate their Drill Sergeants and Command Team. I’m sure these will be the good times that they will remember for years to come.
Stay tuned for ruck march photos tomorrow! Everyone should have access to cell phones and computers tomorrow evening, around 5pm (realistically this time is only pending how long they take to clean the mud out of their barracks)
Have a great night and we look forward to graduation on 01 February! That’s less than a week away!

The rain has stopped and B.o.b decided to come out and dry it up for us… sorta.
More photos of these Freedom Fighters in action conducting a Linear Danger Area (LDA) crossing, pulling security and getting some AAR comments after a long day of triage, treatment, tumbles and falls.
These Soldier Medics are definitely being forged in fire this FTX!

Graduation day is coming on February 1st! We secured an indoor location (the largest available space on Fort Sam Houston) due to the expected cooler mornings in February. Please see the memorandum below for specifics.
We also plan to offer a “family day” for Soldier Medics to go off-post on 31 January from 1300-2000, pending mission requirements. More to follow!

“Joining the army is a decision that is deeply personal and reflective of one's values, aspirations, and sense of duty. For many, including myself, the choice to enlist is driven by a profound desire to serve something greater than oneself.
First and foremost, my decision to join the army is rooted in family tradition. Many members of my family including my father, uncles, sisters had served and believe in the principles and values that this great nation upholds, and I feel a profound responsibility to contribute to its safety and well-being. The opportunity to defend the freedom and rights of my fellow citizens is a calling that I simply could not ignore.
Moreover, the army offers a unique career path that aligns with my ambitions and provides a sense of purpose. The prospect of taking on meaningful roles, developing leadership skills, and making a tangible difference in the world is immensely appealing. The army's emphasis on discipline, teamwork, and perseverance resonates with my personal values.
Ultimately, my decision to join the army is driven by a profound desire to serve, a commitment to personal and professional growth, and a deep respect for the principles that my country stands for. I am eager to embark on this journey, knowing that it will be a transformative experience that will shape me in ways I cannot yet imagine.”
- Private First Class Johnson

“I am SPC Ongaki, originally from Africa, Kenya. I have been in the US almost one and a-half years now. I came to the United States to join my family and I decided to join the army, specifically, to be a 68w. This was to pursue my ambition to be a medic who conserves and ensure soldiers fighting for the peace and freedom of other people serving around the world, that they are given treatment quickly and professionally, and ultimately to ensure they also return to see their families.
Through joining the army, I am also given the opportunity to further my studies, something to make my career even better. I am proud to have made the decision to join the U.S. Army.”
Specialist Ongaki is an inspiration, a steward of the Army Profession and continues to make the Cadre and Drill Sergeants proud.
Continue to “Conserve the Fighting Strength”, Soldier Medic.
