The Felony Veterans Treatment Court joined hundreds of volunteers at Wreaths Across America to honor the Veterans interred at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. We were encouraged to say the Veteran’s name out loud as we laid their wreath to ensure their legacy lives on, even when time might cause others to forget.

This is, by far, my favorite event we participate in. It is a powerful reminder of our commitment to ensure that no fallen Veteran is ever forgotten or spends the holidays alone.

This past Veterans Day week, the FVTC had the honor of celebrating a new class of graduates. These men and women worked hard to address challenges connected to their service and strengthen the skills that support their recovery. We could not be more proud of their dedication not only to their country, but to themselves and their families. Congratulations to the FVTC Fall 2025 graduates.

A heartfelt thank you to our keynote speaker, Major General Patrick Brady, USA, Ret., for celebrating our graduates and inspiring us with his remarkable legacy of service, leadership, and commitment.

Let us never forget The Greatest Generation and the call to service they answered: their courage, their sacrifice, their commitment, and their contribution live on in infamy.

Today, we stand in silence at the 84th toll of the bell—a sacred count since the morning the skies over Pearl Harbor were shattered. December 7, 1941, remains a date etched in the soul of our nation, defining a generation by fire and profound sacrifice.

We reflect with wrenching sadness on the lives lost and the ships that became eternal tombs. Yet, within that tragic hour, we find the purest form of super heroic bravery. Young sailors and Marines, without a moment's hesitation, fought with unyielding courage, racing toward the inferno, saving comrades, and launching a defense that began the long road to victory.

Their immediate, selfless actions were the first, fierce heartbeat of American resistance.

As the years pass, the voices of the survivors grow few, their duty now fully passed to us. We carry the solemn promise: that the bravery, the sacrifice, and the ultimate heroism demonstrated that morning will never be forgotten.

We honor the fallen, the survivors, and the legacy they left behind. Their courage is the unshakeable anchor of our freedom.

🕊️ Lest We Forget. We Remember.

Today we celebrate the United States Marine Corps on its birthday. Originally established by the Second Continental Congress in 1775, the Marines have long stood among those who bravely serve and defend our nation and its freedoms. We honor the few and the proud today and always.

The Felony Veterans Treatment Court was honored to support the Felony Drug Court Alumni Association as they hosted the 17th Annual Specialty Treatment Court Festival. Specialty courts truly change lives, offering a meaningful path to recovery in place of incarceration. Events like these help keep that mission strong and remind us how powerful community can be in supporting second chances.
