Our Interior Design program provides a rigorous, collaborative, and creative environment that prepares students for a globalized and challenging future. Our philosophy reflects our engagement with allied disciplines and with the profession. We believe that design is leadership. We foster leadership through the mastery of knowledge and skills in collaboration with other disciplines and through engagement with the profession.

Through studio and lecture courses, field studies and design build opportunities, science, technology, management, and the profession are integrated with theory and practice. Together, this dynamic environment encourages creative problem solving. Outreach and international studies extend the classroom experience out into the world. In addition, service learning and sponsored programs provide a foundation for ethical + sustainable practice.

Please join us for the virtual UTSA School of Architecture and Planning Open House and Student Award Ceremony on Friday, May 7. The Student Award Ceremony will be from 5:00-6:00pm, and the Open House will follow after the closing remarks of the Student Award Ceremony.
Our show will present our best curated undergraduate and graduate student work in architecture, interior design and planning. It is the finale of a week of student presentations of their semester’s work.

We're celebrating our grads! 🎓 David Robinson, Jr., son of San Antonio Spurs great David Robinson, will graduate from this month with his master’s degree in urban and regional planning. As the director of parks and recreation at Weston Urban, he’s eager to help create a vibrant downtown San Antonio.

While at UTSA, Robinson Jr. was a Dwight. D. Eisenhower Transportation Fellow. He was also a Graduate Dean’s Choice Winner for the COVID-19 Transdisciplinary Team Grand Challenge for a proposal titled “Life Under COVID-19: Oral Histories of Small Businesses in the Historic Westside of San Antonio.”

Way to go, David! Welcome to the UTSA Alumni family!

Master’s graduate takes on new role in San Antonio’s continued growth MAY 3, 2021 — When David Robinson Jr. moved to Austin in 2011 to pursue his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin and then later New York City, he never thought he’d return to his hometown of San Antonio to play a part in the city’s vast growth and revitalization.
