June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month. 💜

Every older adult deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued. This month serves as a reminder to recognize the signs of elder abuse, speak up when something doesn't seem right, and help create environments where seniors can live with security and support.

Together, we can help protect the well-being of older adults and ensure they have access to the resources and services they need to thrive.

We're excited to kick off our 2026 Project Cool, helping seniors stay safe and comfortable during the hot summer by providing free box fans throughout our community. As temperatures rise, this project remains a simple but important way to help prevent heat-related illnesses and support those who need it most.

Thank you to our incredible partners: City of San Antonio Department of Human Services, H-E-B, Live Greystar SA, San Antonio Fire Department, Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Central Texas, United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County, and WellMed Charitable Foundation for helping make this effort possible. We would also want to thank Commissioner Justin Rodriguez, Precinct 2, for his continuous support.

New box fans can be donated at any San Antonio Fire Station, except at the airport, or Guadalupe Community Center (1801 W Cesar Chavez Blvd). If you are in need of a free fan, please visit our Guadalupe Community Center (1801 W Cesar Chavez Blvd), St. Stephen's CARE Center (2127 S. Zarzamora St), or call the United Way Helpline at 211 for a convenient location. If you have any questions, please call (210) 226-6178.

A special celebration was in order! 🎓🎉

Recently, the moms and staff at Guadalupe Home came together to celebrate one of our Case Managers on earning her master’s degree from UTSA!

We are proud of this incredible achievement and grateful for the impact she continues to make in the lives of the families she serves. Congratulations on this well-deserved milestone!

We are so grateful for our Young Adult Board and Reagan High School, who served at St. Stephen’s CARE Center this weekend.

Their time and dedication helped stock shelves, organize donations, and support cleaning and upkeep throughout the space. These efforts ensure the CARE Center remains a welcoming and well-prepared resource for individuals and families in need.

We truly appreciate their willingness to step in, serve, and make a meaningful difference in our community.
