Alyssa Hudson competed in the UIL Regional 2A golf tournament in Corpus Christi, TX. After two rounds competing against 90 of the best golfers from Region IV, Alyssa finished 31st overall. On the second day of competition, Alyssa shot her best round of her career with a 98! Alyssa has qualified for the regional tournament all four years while at Stacey. She has also won several tournaments along the way including being the District 30-AA champion her junior year. Congratulations on a very successful golf career!

Stacey Junior, Seth Yeager, competed in Super Smash Bros Ultimate at the TexSEF Undisputed State Championship held at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. The tournament brings together leagues and organizations from across the state and reward teams/players for excellent play throughout the 2023-2024 school year, celebrate teams that exemplify the values of TexSEF, and to promote a high level of competition.

Congratulations to Tristyn Myrick!! Her film ‘Dunkin’ was one of two student films that was selected to be featured at the Festival de Cine Latino Americano in Corpus Christi. The Stacey 10th grader is part of the SaySi youth creative development organization in San Antonio. Her film was a ten-month project about a young boy named Julius, who idolizes and wants to be like Tim Duncan.
Tristyn was also recently named ‘Miss Texas Amazing Teen’. She is involved in JROTC, Girl Scouts and NHS and she represents Stacey on the Golf, UIL, Robotics and CyberPatriot teams.

Ms. James is a beloved teacher who has been in education for 29 years, the last 25 of which were spent at Stacey. During her time at Stacey, she served as an 8th grade English Language Arts teacher, worked on the Site-Based Committee (both campus and District), headed the English as a Second Language (ESL) Department for six years, coached UIL Junior High Literary Events and served as the UIL Coordinator, sponsored the Spirit Squad, and chaperoned countless school activities and field trips. Congratulations on retirement!

On May 7th, Ms. Duron's community service class embarked on a meaningful mission to support our community, volunteering their time at the San Antonio Food Bank. Working together as a team, these 12 students poured their hearts into delivering much-needed food to 84 families. Ruben Ramos, one of the students and organizers of the project, shared his heartfelt thoughts, saying, 'It felt amazing to be out there with my classmates, knowing we were making a real difference. We're just regular people, but together, we did something truly special.

On Saturday April 13th, Ms. Polis took her AP Environmental Science students on a visit to the Pearl Brewery and Hotel Emma to explore their sustainable practices. The Pearl, previously a brewery in downtown San Antonio, was acquired by Hotel Emma in 2002 and continues to champion sustainability. The buildings and businesses in the vicinity of the Pearl and Hotel Emma have also committed to embracing sustainable methods.

On Friday, April 12, Taelor Nelloms, a senior at Lackland, put together an art gallery. The show featured eighteen pieces, ranging from 1st grade artists to a 12th grade artist.
A big thank you to all the art gallery attendants, to Mr. Richard for allowing us to use the foyer before the theater production and thank you to all the art teachers, Mr. Garcia (elementary school), Mr. Martinez (junior high and high school), Ms. Stege (high school), for selecting the pieces!
