During a Special Board Meeting on Monday, May 18, the North East ISD Board of Trustees named Interim Superintendent Anthony Jarrett as the lone finalist for Superintendent.
โHe has maintained a strong commitment to student success, academic excellence and community partnerships,โ said Board President David Beyer. โWe are confident that his leadership, experience, and vision will help guide our District forward, toward continued growth and opportunity for all staff students and families.โ
Jarrett brings more than 25 years of experience in public education including six years with NEISD. He previously served as the Districtโs Chief Instructional Officer before being named Interim Superintendent in December of last year. Prior to joining North East ISD in 2019, Jarrett served as a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent in Northside ISD.
Following the announcement, Jarrett shared his gratitude to the board and enthusiasm for this next chapter.
โSitting in this role is a humbling experience,โ said Jarrett. โThe mindset of service first and self second is something that I fundamentally believe in. I think working alongside you guys, I know our District will continue to grow, get better and be one of the best districts in the country.โ
Per state mandate, NEISD trustees must wait at least 21 days before officially voting to appoint Jarrett as our Districtโs newest Superintendent.

PTA Leaders โ letโs continue setting the example for civic engagement in our communities.
Early Voting for the Primary Election Runoffs begins Monday, May 18 and continues through May 22, with Election Day on Tuesday, May 26.
If you voted in the Primary Election, you must vote in the same partyโs runoff election. If you did not vote in the primary, you may choose either partyโs runoff to participate in.
As leaders and advocates for children, families, and public education, our voices matter. Make a plan to vote and encourage your communities to do the same!
