Summer Trip day 4 recap. Today, students cruised along the Hudson River to get views of the Statue of Liberty, then they received a walking tour of the 9/11 memorials from a survivor of that day. One group was led by an FDNY firefighter and the other by a woman who worked in the towers. It was an honor to hear their stories. After that, the students got to explore the 9/11 museum and see the timeline of events and how that day unfolded. We ended the day with a subway ride to dinner and the Broadway show Hadestown.

Day 3 of the summer trip meant that we left Boston and hopped on a bus to New York. The students got to see 5 states in one day, as most of the day was spent on the bus. We saw Rockefeller Center, Times Square, and had dinner at Chelsea Market. We finished off the evening by going to the top of one World Trade Center to take in spectacular 360 degree views of the city.

Important update on transportation this afternoon. Stay safe families!

⚠️ Weather-Related Bus Delays Expected This Afternoon ⚠️

Due to the heavy rainfall, all afternoon bus routes will operate with extra caution today (Monday, April 20) to ensure student safety. Routes may experience delays as drivers take every precaution to ensure students arrive home safely. With some areas of the District experiencing rising water, some of our drivers will be rerouting in instances where there are low water crossings.

As the afternoon progresses, we will likely be a little later than usual at some of the Middle School and High School campuses, but our intention is to ensure every bus reaches every campus and every stop along its route.
