Readiness grows when medical professionals train together.

During the 2026 European-African Military Nursing Exchange in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, U.S. military medical professionals joined partners from Europe, Africa and the United States to strengthen clinical skills, share expertise and advance military medicine across continents.

This year’s theme, “Excellence in Care, Advancing Readiness through Innovation,” came to life through discussions and hands-on training in evidence-based practice, resilience, forensic nursing and trauma care.

For Army Medicine, exchanges like this build the trust, interoperability and medical readiness needed to care for service members wherever the mission requires.

Saving lives is readiness in action.

During , U.S. Army medical professionals, including Utah National Guard Soldiers, worked alongside FAR-Maroc personnel to treat more than 1,000 patients a day, perform life-saving procedures and strengthen medical partnerships in a complex environment.

The team also marked a historic first for the site: an emergency C-section that helped save a newborn’s life.

This is what Combat Ready Care looks like: trained medical teams, trusted partners and the ability to deliver when seconds matter.

Today, we remember the heroes who never made it home. Their sacrifice is the foundation of our freedom, and their legacy lives on through every Soldier, family member and American who continues to serve something greater than themselves.

This Memorial Day, we honor the fallen, reflect on their courage and recommit ourselves to living worthy of their sacrifice. 🇺🇸

“Combat ready care” isn’t just a slogan — it’s this exact moment. U.S. Army and NATO medical teams rehearsing lifesaving care together under realistic field conditions, building the interoperability needed for tomorrow’s fight. Training like this strengthens readiness, reinforces allied partnerships, and ensures casualties receive rapid, effective care in large-scale combat operations.

Army Medicine strengthens readiness by seeing threats before they spread.

During African Lion 26, U.S. military and research teams integrated biosurveillance capabilities to help commanders identify health threats faster, protect the force and sustain mission readiness across the operational environment.

This is combat-ready care in action: science, surveillance and partnerships working together to keep Soldiers ready and missions moving.
