A lot of people believe they are successful because they have everything they want. But I believe significance comes when you add value to others, and you can’t have true success without significance!

Today I was honored to serve in the ceremony to honor Debra Shoemo on the occasion of her Retirement from 35 years of federal service—28 right here at JBSA-Lackland. Ms Deb is a woman of value, a great Airman, and a friend. I salute her on a job well done.

If you run well but are unable to pass the baton to another runner, you lose the race. As a leader, you should always be preparing to pass the baton off to someone else!
