Today, we remember 9/11 and honor the lives lost, the first responders and service members who answered the call, and the countless people who stepped forward to help, serve, and support others in the days and years that followed. We are grateful for their courage and sacrifice.

San Benito EDC was honored to attend the Moment of Silence & Tribute at the San Benito Fire Station, followed by the Peace Pole Dedication Ceremony at the San Benito Municipal Building. It was a meaningful morning of remembrance, reflection, and coming together as a community.

Today and always, we remember. We honor. We will never forget.

We had such a great time at the San Benito High School Greyhound Tailgate this evening! We were excited to partner with Lone Star Bank and spend the evening surrounded by our community, great conversations, and plenty of Greyhound spirit! ๐Ÿ’œ

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by and helped make the tailgate so much fun. We love being able to come together and be part of these special community moments.

This picture truly captures the heart of the City of San Benito โ€” our people.

Behind every event, every improvement, and every success in our community are the hardworking employees who show up every day with dedication, pride, and love for this city.

That spirit is exactly why our amazing Mayor Ricardo Guerra, City Manager Fred Sandoval, and our incredible City Commissioners proudly embraced the identity of โ€œThe Soul of South Texas.โ€

Because San Benito isnโ€™t just a place โ€” itโ€™s a community built on hard work, integrity, and pure heart.

And Hog Waddle Festival 2026 proved it once again:

๐Ÿ”ฅ Hog Waddle Festival 2026 Highlights
โ€ข 8,500 โ€“ 10,850 people attended throughout the day
โ€ข Kids performances at 1:00 PM
โ€ข Battle of the Alamo reenactment at 3:00 PM
โ€ข 42 food & artisan vendors
โ€ข Sanctioned BBQ Cookoff with 38 competition teams

From our city staff to our residents, the San Benito spirit shines through in everything we do.

This is why we are โ€” and always will be โ€”
โค๏ธ The Soul of South Texas.
