The Rock โ€™nโ€™ Roll Marathon returns this weekend, and with it comes major road closures throughout District 3.

Please plan ahead and expect traffic impacts in areas including Balboa Park, Hillcrest, North Park, Mission Hills, Downtown, and along portions of University Ave, Washington St, and Sixth Ave.

Most closures will be in effect Sunday from approximately 5:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with roads reopening on a rolling basis.

Thank you to our public safety personnel, city crews, volunteers, and everyone helping make this iconic event possible.

Good luck to all the runners hitting the course this weekend! ๐Ÿƒ ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐ŸŽธ

San Diegans deserve solutions, not years of lawsuits, uncertainty, and higher costs.

Today, we reached an agreement that:

โœ… Lowers proposed trash fee rates
โœ… Ends costly litigation and a ballot measure fight
โœ… Eliminates paid parking at Balboa Park

This agreement also includes an independent audit and analysis to ensure accountability and transparency moving forward.

But the real winners in this agreement are the people of San Diego. Residents deserve a city focused on results, affordability, and common-sense solutions that improve everyday life.

Iโ€™ve always believed we can solve tough issues by bringing people together and focusing on what matters most to our communities. This agreement protects taxpayers, restores free parking at Balboa Park, and helps move our city forward.

Thank you to everyone who worked to get this done for San Diego.

Thank you to all the District 3 residents who joined our budget town hall this week, as well as Independent Budget Analyst Charles Modica and his team for their presentation on our Cityโ€™s budget process and function.

Iโ€™m grateful for the thoughtful feedback, honest perspectives, and community input shared as the City begins the second half of the budget process.

These conversations help ensure weโ€™re making informed decisions that reflect the priorities and needs of our communities.

I appreciate everyone who took the time to participate and make their voices heard.

Excited to support Phase 1 of the Civic Center Revitalization Plan and the vision to transform Golden Hall into a new arts and education space in the heart of Downtown.

This is an important investment in the future of our Civic Center and in creating a more vibrant, welcoming Downtown for all.

Thank you to the Prebys Foundation, the Downtown San Diego Partnership and all of the stakeholders for your partnership and collaboration on this exciting project.

Today is May Day a reminder that San Diego runs because working people show up and get the job done.

They deserve more than thanks. They deserve fair pay, safe conditions, and a city that delivers for them.

Proud to stand with our workers always and to keep fighting for a San Diego that delivers for the people who keep this city running.

Proud to take part in Dine Out For Life throughout the day today, stopping at several participating establishments across our community in support of this important tradition.

This year marks 20 years of Dine Out For Life benefiting The San Diego LGBT Community Center, helping fund critical services including HIV services and prevention programs that continue to save lives and support our LGBTQ+ community.

Thank you to all the participating restaurants for donating proceeds, and to The Center for leading this effort year after year. Grateful as well to the elected leaders and offices across the region who showed up in support.

This is San Diego at its best. ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€โšง๏ธ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

On Earth Day, Iโ€™m focused on what it means right here in District 3.

From Downtown to Hillcrest and across our neighborhoods, weโ€™re seeing firsthand how important it is to protect our environment and plan for a more sustainable future.

That means continuing to investing in cleaner transportation options and making our streets more walkable, safer, and better connected.
