πΊπΈ This Memorial Day, we remember and honor the servicemembers who gave everything for something greater than themselves.
Itβs up to us to not simply reflect on their sacrifice, but honor it through our own commitment to service, community, and building a country worthy of their sacrifice.
π Last Saturday, we kicked off the first Block Party at Teralta Park in partnership with Mi Gente and the Cityβs Park & Recreation Department!
It was beautiful to see neighbors, families, local vendors, and kids come together for a free, joyful day in the park. This is what happens when we invest in our neighborhoods and create spaces where families can gather, celebrate, and feel connected.
Big love to Isabel and the Mi Gente team, Parks & Rec, and everyone who came out to make the first one special.
We hope to see you at the next one!

The Council District 9 Team was excited to attend Mid-City CANβs Networking Night on Housing last week. The event centered on the policies our communities need to protect renters, build more homes, and ensure working families can afford to stay in the neighborhoods they call home.
Thank you to Mid-City CAN (Community Advocacy Network), Jesse Ramirez, Nicole Lillie, and every community member who showed up to engage on issues like the Junk Fees Ordinance, Empty Homes Tax ballot measure, Mid-City Communities Plan update, and more.
