If you needed another reason to support Public Power, This video is an indictment on Investor Owned Utilities (IOUs) and the Edison Electric Institute’s anti-climate lobbying. Great video, worth a watch.

And they didn’t even address the “Regulatory Capture” the IOUs in the state practice on the CPUC. Nor do they discuss the vertical integration SDG&E and Sempra use to continue their fight against rooftop solar and non-fossil fuel power sources. Our initiative efforts are making news here in SD. Power San Diego held a press conference yesterday pointing out SDG&E and Sempra’s record profits last year that were just announced. SDG&E’s were up $21M from the previous year.

The campaign to FIRE SDGE! and bring a non-profit utility to San Diego took a leap forward last week, when Public Power San Diego (PPSD) joined a growing number of groups endorsing an initiative that would put the issue on the 2024 ballot.
