Meet Dolph Fungrin, the newest addition to our garden family. Purchased for $10 at a neighbor's garage sale. I think he looks like a giant Franklin Mint collectible.

New picture books and cool boy-centric midgrades dropped off today!

We were having a week (and it's only Monday, mind you) when some fantastic friend or neighbor dropped off a box of Weekly Reader books for our Little Free Library. If you are a Gen Xer, your grandparent may have purchased this new book subscription-or the Parent Magazine version-as a gift for you. When the books came, it was the best time of the month.
In this box was a book I have been looking for for quite sometime: The Summerfolk by my favorite illustrator Doris Burn.
Joy. Pure Joy.

Thanksgiving themed book added to our LFL today.
We had noticed a family taking multiples and reselling them, so we began adding "Not For Sale" to the edges of the midgrades and the back of almost new picture books. Our books are free and are for sharing.

We've added a couple Little Free Libraries out in the wild in SoCal. One with Best STEP Forward in Calexico at Chavez Elementary (Hagrid's Hut) and one in Clairemont at Humble Bean Cafe. Thanks to the talented Steve Bair for his building skills on Hagrid's Hut.
