Thank you Re*****on I for your very generous donation of $2,440.00.

The funds were accumulated through the sale of a book at Re*****on I entitled “The Miracle of Life at La Jolla Cove”. Dr. David Sattler wrote the book and was the sole photographer. He is the son of Ginny Shabatay (resident of Re*****on I) who was the editor of the book.

Dr. Sattler recently gave a presentation on the book at one of the Re*****on I meetings, with a portion of the proceeds going to assist FS #33. The reason - the firefighters respond to a large amount of calls at the facility and are always so kind and friendly.

Seen in the photo:

Ryan Golze, Executive Director
Ginny Shabatay - resident and editor of the book
Judy Weissman - President of Re*****on I
James Montgomery - Captain Division A
Scott Nicholson - Engineer
Robin Kaufman - President of Friends of Fire Station #33
Samantha Lopez - Firefighter/Paramedic
Alan Lopez - Firefighter

July 15th is national pet fire safety day. This day is dedicated to raising awareness about preventing fires that could harm pets and educating pet owners on how to keep their animal companions safe in the event of a fire,

How to observe:

Extinguish open flames like candles and fireplaces before leaving the house.
Pet-proof your home by securing or removing hazards like loose wires and stove k***s.
Have a pet rescue plan in place, including identifying escape routes and who is responsible for rescuing pets.
Have working smoke detectors and consider monitored alarms for added protection.
Place pet alert stickers on windows to inform firefighters that pets are inside.
Keep pets near exits and have leashes and carriers ready for quick evacuation.
