Registration is still open for Teen Mindset Matters! Join our upcoming session on Sunday, June 14, 2026.
Teen Mindset Matters helps rising 7th-9th graders build confidence and strengthen coping and executive functioning skills as they navigate key transitions and stressors.
While students meet, parents are invited to participate in a Mindful Parenting & Self-Compassion group to slow down, reconnect, and learn how to nurture compassion at home. Parents and students leave feeling more grounded, capable, and prepared to handle what comes next.

Today, on Holocaust Survivor Day, we came together to celebrate the lives, strength, and resilience of Holocaust Survivors and to honor the remarkable legacies they continue to share with our community.
It was a meaningful gathering filled with connection, remembrance, and joy as Survivors, family members, friends, and community partners came together at Congregation Beth Israel of San Diego. We were also treated to a wonderful performance from the San Diego Jewish Men's Choir, who sang songs in Yiddish, Hebrew, Russian, and English, adding a special spirit of celebration. We are deeply grateful to the many partners who help us care for and support Survivors in San Diego and Orange County.
Together, we honor their stories, celebrate their lives, and help ensure their legacy continues for generations to come.

Today, a special thank you goes out to the Mazur Family and friends who recently gathered to celebrate their daughter’s 4th birthday at our Rose Canyon Safe Parking Lot. Together, they served dinner and made kites with the children and families who currently call the Lot home. Kites traditionally symbolize freedom, good luck, and the desire to rise above one’s limitations. Thank you, Mazur Family and friends, for inspiring our community to keep dreaming big and working hard.

Treasuring the time, we spent with our friends and colleagues from Sha'ar HaNegev this week.
It's a powerful reminder that when people are connected through shared work and shared values, time and distance seem to disappear. Reuniting felt as though no time had passed at all.
We are excited for the work ahead and for the opportunity to continue partnering together to strengthen the mental health and wellbeing of the communities we serve—both together and from afar.

Many thanks to members from Mission Hills United Church of Christ who came out to our Joan & Irwin Jacobs Campus to serve a hot meal from the Loonin Family Kitchen to individuals and families staying in our Safe Parking Lot. The warmth of a healthy meal and friendly conversation go a long way in helping our unhoused neighbors feel seen and cared for. Thank you, MHUCC, for sharing your time and compassion with our neighbors.

Are you a high schooler looking for a unique opportunity to support other teens? Jewish Family Service is excited to launch a new partnership with Here App geared towards teens and mental health. Teen Advisors serve as vital support to app users who want to talk to someone their own age who understands what they are going through.
This unique service and learning opportunity teaches teens how to support their peers, boost their own wellbeing, and gain experience for jobs, college, and life ahead. Teen Advisors complete their volunteer experience remotely, allowing them the flexibility to make a difference volunteering while still managing their other commitments. (Looks great on your college app too!)
