On May Day, we recognize the contributions of workers and the essential role they play in keeping our region strong.

Today, we highlight janitorial staff who care for County facilities, from libraries and health resource centers to court buildings and airports. Their work often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt in every space they help maintain.

provides Know Your Workplace Rights trainings to over 600 janitorial, landscaping, and security contract workers each year. We’re proud to help ensure essential workers know their labor rights and are thankful for their dedication to our communities!

Looking for a fresh start? The 4th annual Fair Chance Workshop and Job Fair is here to help formerly justice system-involved workers take the next step toward employment.

Workers will have the opportunity to meet employers who believe in second chances and are ready to hire motivated candidates.

It takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, April 24 at the County's Southeastern Live Well Center, 5101 Market St., San Diego.
