Americans are moving into high-risk zones for wildfires, drought, hurricanes

Researchers at the University of Vermont analyzed how climate and natural hazards affected migration in the United States between 2010 and 2020. Their data shows that, in general, people moved away from areas affected by frequent heat waves, but toward areas that are prone to wildfires, drought and intense hurricanes.

The Black Hive says NO to Manchin’s zombie "permitting reform" bill.

Joe Manchin’s toxic deal to sacrifice Black lives is back. Earlier this year, our movement sent thousands of emails, calls, and tweets to Congress that helped us protect Black communities and stop a massive expansion of fossil fuel infrastructure. Now, Majority Leader Schumer and Speaker Pelosi are trying to sneak Manchin’s fossil fuel industry wishlist back in yet another forced vote. This so-called ”permitting reform” is irresponsible deregulation that undermines our civil rights by destroying bedrock environmental laws and public participation processes built to protect Black lives from pollution. We beat Manchin’s toxic deal before and with your help we can do it again.
