We are gagged over the outcome of Ariana’s Kinusaiga Bowie! ✨ We think she nailed his likeness. This Japanese fabric mosaic technique has been so fun to explore at Revision using fabric scraps and vintage frames.
Fun fact: Bowie’s eyes are often mistaken as being two different colors but he actually had a condition where one of his pupils was larger than the other.

Wanna join Revision? Our Creative Arts Program has expanded to include a 6 week specialty course in ceramics. This is taught by an expert in the field, all materials are included, and it’s offered through a sponsorship with the San Diego Regional Center, through a grant awarded by the Foundation for Developmental Disabilities. This is a small group, hands on opportunity to learn hand building, sculpture, glazing, surface decoration and more! Although is offered to adults with disabilities specifically, if you are a ceramic artist looking to become involved, reach out! We also have paid visiting artist offerings, and workshop assistant needs. For more info email or DM or [email protected]

Happy Mother’s Day to all maternal figures today 🩷 and a special shout out to the Mama’s on our Team. They balance caring for their kids, and come to work with open, creative hearts each week. We thank you!

Now on display at the La Mesa Library, a solo exhibition of work by Jack Medved can be seen. His pieces, centered around his love of literacy, often include positive reminders for viewers of all ages to embrace the whimsy of imaginative characters, take time to care for the environment, and to be a good neighbor 📚

As April comes to an end, we want to recognize the Autistic Community of artists who inspire us everyday. We are honored to be able to use Revision as a platform for voices that deserve to be heard, and for sharing talents that have a valued place in the art scene. Yesterday one of the artists in residence, Zoe, was invited to share her experiences on KPBS Midday Edition. The segment is posted in our linktree. Please take a listen✨
Thanks for inviting Jessica and Zoe to be part of the important conversation about Autism Acceptance Month.
