Congress is currently debating a multi-trillion-dollar tax package while simultaneously working on the FY 2026 federal budget, which will include over $1.5 trillion in additional discretionary spending. At the same time, housing supply and affordability have become increasingly urgent issues, with fewer areas in the country where families can afford to rent—let alone purchase—a decent home. This seems like an ideal moment to invest more in our housing and community infrastructure.

But is Congress and the Administration ready to meet the moment?

Join LISC for a webinar on June 25 at 2 pm ET, featuring policymakers and practitioners discussing opportunities for action, and the high costs of inaction: https://lisc-org.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_KrsOeutIQlqR22Sa5LtZHg

We had the opportunity to attend this year's LISC AmeriCorps conference, in which we celebrated 30 years of programming with colleagues, amazing speakers, and of course, AmeriCorps Members! Everyone at the conference had an opportunity to connect, learn, and participate in a service project. We were thankful for this time together as we enter the 30th year of our members being of service to our communities!
