Charmaine was my 50th mission. I turned a gruelling long bus ride (she doesn't have a car) into two 45 minute flights from home to treatment and back. Charmaine's joyful attitude through her struggle with cancer was contagious. What a special lady.

It was a surprise for 10 year old Omar when he found out Saturday morning that he was going to be able to attend burn camp that day. Omar arrived a bit nervous about the flight. With the comforting presence of volunteer Jane Allen serving as mission assistant, he fell fast asleep for most of the 2 hour flight. The hand made quilt donated by a team of ladies from St. John's Friendship Quilters came in handy as he snuggled in for his nap. Arriving in Fresno he was met by other children with whom he attended the week-long camp in previous years. There were smiles and hugs all around as they reconnected!
