'Quick Attack' Vehicle for Lakeside!

The Fire Foundation is pleased to support Lakeside Fire Protection District in the acquisition of this quick attack fire patrol vehicle. This 4x4 powerhouse is a game-changer for the community, specifically designed to navigate the difficult terrain of the San Diego River bed and protect sensitive riparian habitats. The CVFD Fuels Crew recently completed a hazardous fuels reduction project in the Otay River Valley, treating approximately 4.5 acres to create defensible space around nearby homes and businesses and strengthen the area’s wildfire resilience. This work was made possible through partnership with the San Diego Regional Fire Foundation and the San Diego River Conservancy, supporting Chula Vista’s ongoing commitment to wildfire safety

San Diego Regional Fire Foundation Provides Needed Equipment for Imperial Beach First Responders

Using funds provided by the San Diego River Conservancy, the Fire Foundation has provided the City of Imperial Beach with upgraded personal safety gear that enhances protection for lifeguards and firefighters. The Lifeguards now have 20 new Dry Suits and Firefighters have 12 new sets of personal protective equipment (PPE) and Face Masks.

The equipment will safeguard these First Responders who routinely respond to emergencies in areas affected by regional water pollution originating from the Tijuana River.

We're proud to provide this safety equipment that supports the long-term health and readiness of Imperial Beach First Responders!

Rancho Penasquitos Fire Safe Council to hold Wildfire Safety Forum

The San Diego Regional Fire Foundation encourages all in the Rancho Penasquitos area of San Diego to attend this valuable and informative meeting!

Today we remember and honor the firefighters, first responders, service members, and citizens who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. May we never forget them.

Look who joined the fire prevention team in the Escondido Terracina II neighborhood! These four legged landscapers helped clear dry brush in the area as part of the Community Supported Fire Fuel Reduction Project. 🔥 Big News 🔥 We’re thrilled to share that the San Elijo Hills Fire Safe Council has been awarded a $14,000 grant through the @sandiegofirefdn 2025 SAFE Grant program, with generous support from SDGE and the @sandiegoriver_conservancy! This funding helps us expand wildfire preparedness efforts in San Elijo Hills, Venzano, Old Creek Ranch and Questhaven Hills — from defensible space outreach and community education to fuel reduction projects and support for vulnerable homeowners. Thank you to the San Diego Regional Fire Foundation and its partners for believing in grassroots, community-led solutions. And thank you to our amazing volunteers and neighbors for stepping up to make our community more fire-resilient 🔥 💪🏻 Let’s keep up the momentum — together, we prepare. Together, we protect.
