Exciting news! 🎀 A new 1.1 mile section of the Inland Rail Trail is now open in the City of Vista, creating more than 12 miles of separated pathway for people walking, biking, and rolling from Vista through San Marcos to Escondido.

💎 Celebrating the 2026 Diamond Awards recipients! Thank you to all 146 recipients for promoting sustainable commute choices in the San Diego region. This year, our Platinum‑tier recipients were responsible for:
🔹 Reducing more than 976,000 vehicle miles traveled
🔹 Reducing more than 83,000 tons of CO₂ emissions

For the first time, SANDAG also recognized achievements across the Employer, School, and Residential Commuter Programs, highlighting the region's progress in expanding sustainable commute choices. 👏

🥳 Celebrate the newest section of the Inland Rail Trail with a family-friendly group bike ride on Saturday, September 26! Bring your bike and helmet, and join us as we ride together to the City of Vista’s Cyclovia event. This 2-mile ride is designed for people of all ages and abilities and will be led by certified instructors from the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition. 🚴 🚴 🚴

📅 Details:
🟣 8:30 a.m.: Meet at the entrance to the Inland Rail Trail at Mar Vista Drive and Phillips Street.
🟣 9–9:30 a.m.: Stop at the Civic Center - Vista Station for the Inland Rail Trail Phase 3 ribbon cutting and press conference (810 Phillips Street, Vista, CA 92083).
🟣 10 a.m.: End at Cyclovia Vista (East Broadway, Vista, CA 92083).
