🌧️Tropical Storm Rachel gave us more rain than we were expecting but Caltrans crews in District 11 were ready.
👷‍♂️👷‍♀️Crews were clearing roads and removing debris to make sure our roads were open and safe for travel.

⚠️SR-78 OVERNIGHT CLOSURES IN SAN MARCOS⚠️

🚧All lanes of 78 west at South Rancho Santa Fe Road in San Marcos will close nightly Tuesday through Thursday for road work.

🗓️October 13, 14, and 15 from 10PM to 5AM

🚗Motorists will be detoured at the South Rancho Santa Fe Road offramp and may re-enter westbound SR-78 at the South Rancho Santa Fe Road onramp.

Please drive safely and be alert.

This work is part of the SR-78 Asset Management Project that will enhance a 17.7-mile stretch of the 78, from Interstate 5 in Oceanside to Broadway and Lincoln Parkway in Escondido. This important effort is focused on preserving existing infrastructure, improving safety, and modernizing the corridor to meet current and future transportation needs.

This encampment along the I-5 Washington Street on-ramp in San Diego had three people living here and they were offered services. Crews removed six cubic yards of debris, enough to fill nearly three full-size pickup trucks.

On Sunday, October 4 from 9PM to 5AM, Caltrans will close onramps to 8 east in Ocean Beach and the Midway District for paving work.

🚧The Sunset Cliffs Boulevard and Nimitz Boulevard entrance to 8 east
🚧The Mission Bay Drive onramp to 8 east.

To access 8 east, use Point Loma Boulevard to Sports Arena Boulevard to the 8 east.

The maintenance work schedule is subject to change due to weather, traffic incidents, or other maintenance considerations.

Scholarship opportunity for students pursuing the future of transportation! 🎓

The Caltrans District 11 Disability Advisory Committee (DAC), in partnership with the California Transportation Foundation (CTF), is offering two $1,500 scholarships to eligible California high school and college students.

Students should plan to use their education to contribute to the enhancement of transportation in California.
